Should players be able to craft Meitou weapons?

Thought I'd move this discussion to the forums since it's getting a lot of attention. This topic has had some good arguments in the comments sections of theMeitoupage as well asTopper.

If your character has 100Weapon Smithand a ton of AI Cores laying around, should you be able to gain the ability to craft weapons of Meitou grade like the legendary Cross?

Quick opinion?

I think it should be possible but require a number of things.

1st of all max skill in smithing: No brainer, making the best requires the best.

2nd of all it'd be basically the equivelent of a 1/100 good result: The best possible performance of an excellent smith in other words.

3rd it should require a specially refined rare metal, i.e. something that basically the equivelent of A.I. cores for research but regarding blacksmithing. Possibly requringequivelents for the other material slots as well.

In short high investment with top level skill that isn't even garunteed to pay off, 99/100 times you'll just get an edgewalker or lower level weapon from it. Matching a legend shouldn't be easy, but it also should be impossible.

I know that I'm like way late the conversation here but this is my take: there really shouldn't even be "grades" though particular smiths having speciality bonuses is a fun concept. I think the players should be able to get in on that as well. Maybe may researchable options but when you choose one way to go you can't go down another path or something like that. Maybe there's special machinary that can do the things we looking for such as boosting edged weapons and maybe it takes prohibitive items to make such as something unique and/or hard to get to. I understand blueprints for crossbows and other advanced items but blueprints from swords is silly at best. Pretty sure ancient smiths can look at a sword and go "Yup that's the pointy end," .

If the theme of the game is that it doesn't care about you because you aren't special then it shouldn't care about limiting what you can do either because you're not special.

I have outfitted my characters with realy quick homemade edge 1 and 2 weapons. The foreign sabres also sell pretty well. I would prefer if Quin refreshed everyday... I check him everyday or almost as with many things... in some cases I find something interesting to do. I'm thinking of designing a prison... I have 20 guy on day 443... furthest I ever lived. The first 365 were as a solo character, then she went and started hiring. We have good armor and weapons. the World state is not original equipment. I used faster game mods... those that make you character get exp a bit faster. It says 1.2, so prefered in every statistic, just on the solo guy, but it seems faster than that. Don't know as I am a pro statistician and what really matters in the equation is how long those last levels take to make.

That is to say, "no."... I do wish I could get more meitou falling suns and Paladin's Cross' but it seems to be impossible. I could wait many days, lol. I have all but the world state meitous by taking them, stealing them, or otherwise. This makes this game different. I think, however, it's perfectly reasonable for a level 100 skeleton to make meitous. I think it's racially impossible, and that makes sense, that a young being would make such a weapon, but then the game would have to say skeletons are innately superior.

Idk how dead this is but heres my take. I agree that being able to craft meitous takes away a lot of the incentive to go out and explore the world, but instead of further hammering that point i think this is also proper form a lore perspective. Kenshi is a post-apocalyptic world filled to the brim with ruins of titanic robots and intergalactic spaceships, of technology that is no longer available nor achievable for its inhabitants. Its just fitting that there are this impossibly well crafted weapons lying aroundas a further testament to a world that was once prosperous and capable of producing such feats of craftmanship.

personall i belive you shouold be able to craft meitou's, but they should add special workbench's for it, you would hav to find the blue prints and reasearch to aquireit. and on top of that there would only be 1 blue print in 1 of 100 spots in the entire world to get the exploring part in, plus put some high teir enemys in there so you can just skip the game. You would need 100 smithing to make meitous. along with a 5% drop rate (1 in every 20 weapons made.) seems resonable?

I wish the quality of the guns didn't really matter. Good steel, straightened, well sharpened - and good enough. And unique guns are unique only in that they are well decorated or have a background.
Following the lore, being able to make unique guns is nonsense. Following the gameplay, it doesn't really matter if you forge for 100 days or sit in the Scraphausefor 100 days. Forging is a little more entertaining I guess, why not give aplayer anability to do what they want? The numbers can be very stressful until they are the largest possible. But the one opportunity to obtain something unique motivates no less and does not disturb in any way

So preferred option is if it will be possible to make the best quality in terms of numbers, but the gun of a defeated unique enemy is still better, because it is more beautiful
