Qimir cleverly uses his past to bond with Osha, suggesting that they were both cast out of the Jedi Order for wanting to embrace the Force in a way that was different from the Jedi.

While Darth Bane himself would not be alive during the timeline of The Acolyte, his influence could still be felt. The series could explore how his teachings and the Rule of Two continued to shape the actions and strategies of the Sith.

This detail also checks out with what Acolyte showrunner Leslye Headland has said about cameos in the series in general: “We are pulling characters from the High Republic and characters from EU but that's it,” she said in an interview with ComicBook.com. “No, there is not [a Yoda cameo].”

The Acolyte is set during what's known as the High Republic era, which has never been depicted before on screen.

According to the DisInsider podcast it seems that Sith lords Darth Revan, Darth Bane, and Darth Nihilus will be making appearances in the upcoming Disney+series. These Sith are some of the most iconic in the old Star Wars Legends materials and are quite popular among longtime Star Wars fans.

The Acolyte is set at the end of the Star Wars franchise's High Republic era, approximately 100 years before Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999). It sees a respected Jedi Master investigating a series of crimes that bring him into contact with a former Padawan learner and reveal sinister forces.
